Our Vision

            To regulate and upgrade the dignity, ethics and quality of Myanmar Engineers, Technicians and Technologists who are practising engineering works.

Our Mission

          To hold paramount the safety, health and welfare of the public.


  • to uphold and upgrade the dignity, ethics and quality of the Myanmar citizen engineers, graduate technicians and technicians who are practicing engineering works;
  • to explore using engineering technology and information technology combined the good methods, research and development activities by which the natural resources and human resources of the State may be beneficially applied with least impact on the environment;
  • to carry out guidance and supervision, and to take necessary actions for fulfillment of the requirements of stipulated technical standard, proper method, free from danger, keeping ethics and being dutiful in the fields of engineering and technology education, research and services;
  • to service engineering and technology related functions and duties beneficial for the State assigned by the relevant Ministry and relevant organizations

Quality Policy

  • to enhance the systematic registration by using best practices and standards regionally and internationally;
  • to build the mutually reliable relationship with stakeholders and interested parties through providing their needs and expectations complied with law, rules and regulations;
  • to drive continual improvement of quality assurance on engineering education and create the opportunities of engineering professional development programs for the benefit of the State

Key Persons of MEngC:

Engr.Prof. Dr. Charlie Than:

The Patron, Dr. Charlie Than, who was born in 1950, received his Doctorate in the field of Marine Technology with distinguished Public services including twenty six years experience in the field of inland water transport, shipbuilding, shallow draft Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering. From 2002 to 2013, served as Pro-Rector (Academic & Administration) & Rector in Myanmar Maritime University.

Engr. Dr. Cho Win Maw:

The President of the Myanmar Engineering Council, Dr. Cho Win Maw, was born in 1954. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Rangoon Institute of Technology in March 1977. He joined the Ministry of Industry in 1978 as an assistant engineer at the chemical plant, the Sittaung paper mill. He then transferred to the finishing plant, the Thamine textile mill in 1979.

U Khin Maung Sai:

Mr.Khin Maung Sai, the treasurer, is an alumnus of university of Missouri at Rolla,USA and hold MSCE post graduate Civil Engineering Master Degree since year 1989. He was born in upper Myanmar at Kyauk Se, Mandalay Division year 1950.
